304 Mountain Rye

The Difference

First - we use a custom 80% Rye, 20% Malted Rye mash bill that gives this whiskey a familiar spicy, robust kick that only a 100% rye can do. Then - instead of new charred-oak barrels that standard rye whiskeys use, we fully age ours for a minimum of 4 years in American Oak barrels previously used for aging wine. This allows time to introduce the subtle flavors of oak and vanilla, create structure, introduce tannins, and showcase the true flavor of the 100% rye grain. With wine, it’s always about the grape. With whiskey, it’s all about the barrel; By aging the whiskey in previous wine barrels, the delicate flavors of the wine’s fruit and spice are introduced to compliment and marry with the spiciness of the rye.

The end result is a unique, well-rounded 100% rye whiskey with an unbelievably complex, pleasantly smooth taste - without the full-on robust peppery zing. The perfect rye whiskey for sipping, or to make any cocktail explode with personality!
